Co-authored Wisconsin AB589 (added January 22, 2026), the Abortion Accessibility Act that eliminates criminal penalties for abortion, removes mandatory informed-consent requirements unique to abortion, and allows non-physician providers to perform abortions — dismantling every existing state limit on the practice. He also co-sponsored the companion Senate bill SB547 and previously co-sponsored AB355 (the 2025 'Right to Bodily Autonomy' bill with 59 Democratic co-sponsors).
Voted against Assembly Joint Resolution 1 (AJR1, January 15, 2025), Wisconsin's voter-ID constitutional amendment, on the strict party-line 54-45 Assembly vote — rejecting the rubric's voter-ID standard for election integrity. Wisconsin voters subsequently ratified the amendment in the April 2025 referendum by approximately 25 points, over unanimous Democratic Assembly opposition.
Voted with the Assembly Democratic caucus to advance the 2025 gun-safety omnibus package, which included AB319 (extreme risk protection order/red-flag law), AB324 (mandatory 48-hour waiting period for handgun purchases), and AB325 (universal background check requirement for all firearm transfers) — a comprehensive regulatory package directly opposed to the rubric's constitutional-carry and anti-restriction principles.
