Operation Lone Star launched in March 2021 under Governor Greg Abbott to combat the surge of illegal immigration and drug trafficking at the southern border. Texas has spent over $11 billion on the operation.
Scripture teaches that nations have borders and that lawful authority exists to protect citizens. Texas is acting where the federal government has abdicated its duty. Christians should support magistrates who enforce the law and protect their communities from the consequences of illegal immigration — fentanyl, human trafficking, and the strain on public resources.
